Our Services Monitored Dosage Systems (MDS)
Acute Dispensing
If a patient  is having difficulty taking their medicines such as remembering when to take them or removing the medicines from their packaging, one possible solution is for the pharmacy to provide the medicines in a Monitored Dosage System.

This device places all the medicines in different time slots across the day so the patient can see at a glance what drugs have to be taken and at what time. The medicine blisters are also larger and easier to remove the medicines from.

The pharmacy can liase with patient, GP and carers with regards to setting this system up. We can also arrange for delivery if required.

The MDS system is normally collected weekly, if additional supplies are required please give the pharmacy as much notice as possible - MDS devices take some considerable time to dispense.

If there are any changes to the patients medicines please advise and discuss these with the pharmacy in order that any MDS devices can be modified in good time.
