|Our Services||NHS Minor Ailment Service (EMAS)|
Eligible patients can register for the Minor Ailment Service here at Charlestown Pharmacy. Your pharmacist can prescribe a medicine for a minor illness or complaint if they think it is required. As this prescriptions is funded by the NHS there will be no need to pay for this treatment.
If your pharmacist feels it is better for you to see your GP or other healthcare professional they may refer you directly or ask you to make an appointment.
Who is this service for?
You can use the Minor Ailment Service if:
You are under 16
You are under 19 and in full time education
You are 60 or over
You have a valid maternity exemption, medical exemption certificate or war pension certificate.
You recieve Income Support, Income-based Jobseekers Allowance, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance or Pension Credit Garantee Credit
You are named on, or entitled to NHS tax credit Exemption certificate or valid HC2 certificate
How do I register for the service?
Come in to the pharmacy and speak to a member of staff who will complete your registration form with you.
